Course Description

Compressed Gas Safety and Live Demonstrations

Duration: Six hours

Throughout the course, participants will explore the proper handling, storage, and usage of compressed gases. The course will highlight the importance of understanding the properties and characteristics of different gases, including the potential risks involved in mixing them. Key safety protocols for handling compressed gas cylinders will also be discussed to help minimize the risk of accidents.

The program will discuss the role of safety devices in preventing flashbacks and backfires, offering an overview of different types and their selection criteria. Participants will learn about the basic functions of these devices and general maintenance practices to keep them effective.

To support the learning experience, the course will feature safety demonstrations that aim to illustrate proper cylinder handling, the use of flashback arrestors, and safe gas mixing practices. These examples provide participants with practical insights into adhering to safety guidelines.

By the end of the course, participants should have a stronger awareness of compressed gas safety, the risks associated with gas handling and mixing, and an understanding of precautions that can help reduce accidents in their work environments.
